Portland, Oregon’s breathtaking city views of the magnificent Mount St. Helens and Mount Hood are just one of the many perks of living or working downtown. Portland’s urban culture has grown extensively with a fascination for top-tier performing and visual arts venues, shopping, and recreational activities. This Pacific Northwest city has been recognized as one of “America’s Healthiest Cities” by Food & Wine Magazine and Forbes. This comes as no surprise since Portland is sprawling with massive hiking trails, recreational and leisure parks, urban bike paths, and healthy cuisine.

Yes the city has been acknowledged for its healthy dining, most notably for their vegetarian and vegan food carts and restaurants. At first it’s hard to visualize a food cart being recognized for healthy cuisine as they usually bring to mind greasy (but delicious) festival food, but not here in Portland. Downtown Portland has a large selection of food carts dedicated to providing customers with the freshest vegetarian and vegan options. If you’re looking for a fresh and healthy take on lunch this afternoon, take a look at these fabulous Portland vegetarian and vegan food carts and food trucks that will have you feeling full and light on your feet!
