Looking for a fun and therapeutic way to spend a Saturday morning? Well, America’s first planetarium, Adler Planetarium, is offering a yoga fitness class on September 5th and 19th at 8:30 am in the Grainger Sky Theater. Throughout these Sun Salutations classes, yogis will be able to relax, stretch, and pose in a quiet setting underneath the stars and planets of the dome. The sessions will be led by Yoga by Degrees instructors. Beginner to advanced yogis will find Sun Salutations to be a great learning and fitness experience.

The group sessions are open to anyone 10 and up – all you need to do is bring your ticket, yoga mat, and a water bottle.  Strengthen your asana (yoga posture) and energize your mind, body, and spirit with a unique variety of poses while connecting to the universe. After the cosmic yoga class, students will get to explore the museum’s exhibitions for free!

The Adler Planetarium is America’s first planetarium, located in Central Chicago. Exhibitions currently on display include Mission Moon, Community Design Lab, Astronomy in Culture, Telescopes: Through the Looking Glass, and Our Solar System.  For ticket information on Sun Salutations yoga sessions, click here.
