Family Fun Events in Atlanta this Weekend

This upcoming weekend holds some very exciting and family-friendly events in Atlanta that you are sure to love! parkChastain Park Arts Festival: The 6th annual Chastain Park Arts Festival will be held at Chastain Park this upcoming weekend on Saturday, November 1st and Sunday, November 2nd.  Visitors will not only enjoy free admission, but get to explore 185 artists exhibiting their work in an outdoors art gallery of exquisite craftsmanship and fine collectors pieces. This weekend you can enjoy the wonderful work of fine painters, photographers, sculptors, leather and metal craft workers, glass blowers, jewelers and many more! The festival invites you to view artist demonstrations, relax with live entertainment, participate in hands-on activities, and grab a snack at one of the many food vendors. The festival has made its mission to give back to the Fulton community. This year, the festival is benefiting a scholarship fund for local artists administered by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces.

cabbagetown Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp: Cabbagetown sits on the east side of Atlanta and has become the city’s prime point for local street art. This former mill-town neighborhood has hosted the annual “Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp” for the last 12 years – with over 22,000 attendees in 2013. There are lots to do at this year’s festival! You can sign up for the early morning 5k race and celebrate with a victory beer-for-breakfast.

The Chomp & Stomp is known for their chili cook-off, so come and check out the individual and restaurant competition. $5 gets you a spoon and unlimited sampling of restaurant and individual stations off of “chili row” – so BRING YOUR APPETITIE! Bring the family and visit Brussel Sprout Corner where the kiddies can get their face painted, play games, and watch special stage performances. While you walk off that chili, take a look at the Artist Market where some of the most unique business come together to show off their products. Authentic Bluegrass can be heard from one of their many stages and is sure to be a blast for all!

LOBSTER FESTAtlanta Lobster Festival: Let’s celebrate with a feast at the first ever Atlanta Lobster Festival! The festival will be held in Candler Park, and guests will enjoy live music, arts and crafts, and delicious foods served up by the top restaurants in the Atlanta area. Even if your clan is not into seafood,  food trucks will be providing alternative selections! Enjoy craft brews with your samples while listening to the live performances by The Bitteroots and Cadillac Jones band plus many more. The Atlanta Lobster Festival is benefiting the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta whom has been dedicated to making kids better today and healthier tomorrow in the Atlanta area. Tickets for food are $35 for General Admission and $90 for VIP, click here to purchase. Hurry though, they are almost sold out! No purchase is required to enter the park to enjoy live entertainment.
