I’m getting ready to leave for Chicago in a few days … the Windy City. In December! Because of this, warmth has been a top priority for the last few days: coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and sweaters. On top of that, we’re experiencing record lows here in Atlanta and snow flurries have arrived much earlier than usual. If things are getting downright chilly where you are, here are some of the top gadgets and gifts to keep warm this winter season:
First, the Snuggie! They’ve even developed a water-resistant outdoor Snuggie with front pockets – perfect if you enjoy outdoor sporting events this time of year.
If you spend a lot of time at the computer and suffer from cold hands during the winter, the Warm Mouse and Heated Keyboard might just do the trick. And while we’re on the subject of hands, using your cell phone and other gadgets can be difficult with gloves on – try a pair of the E-Tip Gloves and you can talk on the phone or surf the ‘Net while your hands stay warmly in your gloves.
Got cold feet? Then a pair of heated socks from Hammacher Schlemmer is the perfect solution. Perhaps you enjoy being on the cutting-edge of fashion while showing off your perfect toes. Then the Vibram Five Fingers shoes could be the footwear you’ve been searching for!
As chilly as it is outside, I can light the fireplace and huddle under a blanket and be just fine. My Chihuahua, on the other hand, is obviously freezing -- even in her sweater, she shivers so much it makes me cold just looking at her. I’m considering getting a pet bed warmer for her so she can have a warm spot to curl up.
Keep your towels, gloves, and scarves warm with a warming towel bar and you’ll never feel chilled again! I would love to give one of these gadgets a try. Just the idea of a nice, warm scarf wrapped around my neck makes the Chicago high temperature expected today of 15 degrees sound downright toasty.
