March marks the month where we officially spring forward and start receiving more sunlight in the evening. Long gone are the days of darkness starting at 5:00 PM. Now, we can start to enjoy the warmer weather and everything that comes along with spring.

The late actor, Robin Williams, perfectly summed up spring. “Spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s party!’”

Once the flowers and trees start to blossom, it instantly becomes more beautiful outdoors and you just feel like celebrating! If it is nice outside, shouldn’t your apartment look great as well?

We have compiled a list of 5 cleaning tips to implement for your apartment in 2015. After you get back from your bike ride or invite your friends over, you will appreciate having a spotless apartment home.

1. Clean your carpet

Allergists routinely recommend carpet removal due to allergy concerns based on an allergen avoidance theory.

Spring is known for being notoriously bad for allergies. Make sure to clean your carpet so you can get rid of the dust mites and allergens that have been collected over the months.

Not only will your apartment look fresh with a clean carpet, you won’t need a boxful of tissues after sneezing so much.

2. Attack your toilet bowl

Everyone remembers the person that has the nasty toilet bowl. Please do us a favor and don’t become that person.

Go out to the nearest store and purchase toilet bowl cleaner. This is specifically designed to clean the toilet bowl and will break down dirt, bacteria, and limescale.

Cleaning expert Melissa Maker breaks down this process in three minutes.
We’re confident you can spend a couple of minutes to clean this crucial component of your home.

3. Pick up the broom

Let’s say you followed our first step in this blog and took the time to clean your carpet. Even though you have removed some dust, there is still dirt hidden in other places that you will need to attack.

Studies show that the average home in the United States collects more than 6 pounds of dust each year. Pick up your broom and start sweeping so you remove pet hair, pollen, mold, and dust mites.

4. Sanitize your oven

Your oven is a beast that can be tough to clean. Sure, you clean your oven when some of your cheese on your pizza spills onto the hot surface. Raise your hand though if your oven has been thoroughly cleaned over the past 30 days? (Crickets).
According to Oven Valeting Service, it is recommended to clean your oven between every two and twelve weeks depending on your usage.

Spring is a perfect time to dive deep into the oven.

5. Bedroom tidiness
When you live in an apartment, you spend a lot of time in your bedroom. From sleeping to studying to getting dressed, your bedroom serves as your mecca of living.

Make sure you take the following action in your bedroom, which will help you stay more organized and clean this spring:

  • Make your bed each day
  • Clean your drawers and closet
  • If you have an abundance of clothes, donate them to a homeless shelter
  • Endust your desks
  • From your nightstand to your desk to your drawers, bust open some Endust to remove the dust

Once you’re all done cleaning, you will feel like a million bucks. To top the cleaning process off, spray some room freshener and light some delicious-smelling candles to give your apartment the perfect scent.

Not only will you be smiling about the much-improved weather, you will be happy with a fresh and clean apartment.
