The Apartment Association of Greater Dallas (AAGD) recently held their annual PAC Benefit Auction at the Hotel InterContinental in Dallas,TX. The event is the largest fund raiser for the association’s Political Action Committee (PAC).
Each year the apartment industry is faced with a series of new state and local regulations. The Apartment Association of Greater Dallas constantly monitors legislative activities in municipalities in the eleven county areas in which they service. Resources from the AAGD PAC allow the association to make headway against costly regulations.
This year’s auction was co-chaired by Karen Tepera of Greystar and Robert Tinning of Churchill Residential. Other committee members included Alan King of Berkshire, Steve Lamberti of Milestone, Kin Oldham of Pinnacle, Steve Thurber of Pace and Scott Wilder of Lincoln Property Company.
The event began with a silent auction followed by dinner and a live auction. The silent auction contained over 70 items that were donated directly, or purchased with cash donations. Some items included a set of Taylor Made Burner Irons, Dallas Maverick tickets, Texas Rangers tickets, Dallas Stars tickets, designer jewelry, electronics and a Kindle Fire tablet.
The live auction was led by AAGD President, Kin Oldham, Karen Tepera and Robert Tinning. Other auctioneers included, Jay Parmelee of Lincoln Property Company, Mike Clark from Alpha Barnes, Mark Copeland from WestCorp, Barbara Middlebrook from Westdale and Alan King from Berkshire. Live auction items included a Wine Aficionado tasting for twenty, Select Wine Baskets, Front Cover of AAGD Rooflines Magazine, Full Registration to the TAA and NAA Conferences, Spa Package to Woodhouse Spa in Plano, Golf with Kin Oldham and Scott Wilder, Cigar and Tequila Basket and a 4-Hour Cruise for 10.
This years PAC Auction was a huge success. To date, it’s raised over $80,000, which is the largest in the history of the event. Everyone had a great time and is looking forward to continuing the success next year. Thank you to all those who donated auction items and/or cash, those who purchased auction items and all those who volunteered.
