We’re at the National Apartment Association Education Conference & Exposition in Las Vegas today, getting ready for one of the highlights of our year!
As Marcia says, Orange is in the house!
Last night, our top management team, including Dan McCarthy, our CEO, and Gerry Parker, our CFO, had a terrific dinner with a small group of top management execs at Charlie Palmer’s Steakhouse in the Four Seasons. Everyone got a orange FlipVideo camera as a gift (along with hand-signed magnums of 2006 Peirson Meyer Pinot Noir, Sonoma Stage Vineyard, Sonoma Coast — an amazing wine!), so if you see Scott Wilder, David Vining, Rick Graf, Terry Danner or Ron Shelton taking videos around the show floor, you’ll know that Finder sent them.
Today, we’re opening up our booth on the floor. We’ve got a bunch of fun and exciting things going on. First, we’re showing off a brand-new video we’ve made telling the Finder story and featuring vignettes shot by our Finder team from all around the country. (The video is embedded at the end of this post, and you can see it on YouTube here.) We’re going to be shooting video all through the show and uploading new snippets into our loop, so keep an eye on us. And, we’ve got more than 200 vignettes from around the country that we’ll post onto YouTube in the next couple of weeks. If it’s fun, it’s Finder.
We’re also showing off some new social media features for ApartmentFinder.com. You can read about them here. We’ve been overwhelmed by the consumer response to these features. It is confirming our sense that developing distribution for our advertiser’s content into the social web is a key tactic for driving results.
And finally, we’re introducing a brand-new social media marketing service called CommunitySherpa. This is a different kind of service for our company, but takes advantage of our skills in content creation, management and distribution to help multi-family companies implement social media marketing strategies. For a low monthly fee, we will create and manage a Community blog and Facebook and Twitter accounts for an apartment community. We think about it as a turn-key social media content and marketing service. We’re excited about it, because it is the same process that you are experiencing from Finder today: a central blog and multiple distribution and interaction points around the social web, such as our Facebook pages and our Twitter accounts. You can go to the CommunitySherpa web site to check it out. This is part of a wider initiative at our parent company, NCI, which you can read about here.
Dan has put together a short presentation about social media in the multi-family industry, and will be presenting it on the show floor for the next three days. Everyone is hungry to learn more about social media and we’re excited to share the things that we’ve been doing!
So it’s a big few days for the Finder team. We’re all here, we’re all dressed in Orange and we’re all ready to go.
We’ll post photos and updates from the show floor. Keep your eye on us.
