Everyone knows that economic times have been tough in this country with the decline in the real estate industry and the stock market. The multi-family industry has not gone unaffected and neither have their residents. As things begin to improve with rising rents, increased occupancy and a positive forecast for 2012, it’s nice to look back at how some management companies chose to give back to their local community and those in need.

Blue Ridge Property Management, which manages apartments across the Southeast, recently conducted a very successful, Toys for Tots campaign. They ended the year by celebrating with their holiday party at their High Point head quarters where communities, residents, employees and vendors donated the toys and helped fill a 32ft. long Coca Cola truck with toys.Everyone knows that economic times have been tough in this country with the decline in the real estate industry and the stock market. As things begin to improve with rising rents, increased occupancy and a positive forecast for 2012, it’s nice to look back at how some management companies chose to give back to their local community and those in need.

And it does not end there. Blue Ridge has participated every year and leads the way in the Piedmont Triad Apartment Association’sFill the Stands with Cans food drive for 2nd Harvest Food Bank.

Signature Property Group based out of Greensboro, NC, has started “SignatureCares” which this December raised over 600 toys for Toys for Tots. Their SignatureCares Facebook page reads, At Signature Property Group, we are local and only have properties in the local area. Therefore, we know the strength of reaching out to our local community and organizations to build a foundation for caring. SPG has been a part of raising money for Cancer, Humane Society, Homelessness, Toys For Tots and continues to look for ways for the staff and company to be involved. We now want to extend these opportunities to our residents and greater community with this page.” “At Signature, we don’t want to be just another apartment management company that you live with; we would love to partner with our residents and community to help make a difference.”

These are only two examples of many great property management companies that are giving back in their local communities. Property management companies have come a long way since the old image of the “landlord” and go the extra mile to care for their residents and communities.
