When thinking of the holidays, tradition with family is a thought that instantaneously comes to mind. Whether you are celebrating Christmas, Hanukah or Kwanzaa, each religion has the underlying theme of spending quality time with loved ones.
While gifts are certainly memorable, the most unforgettable experiences come from within the friendly confines of one’s home. Stories, laughter, and food are all shared and the cozy environment is what really makes the holiday time special.
“When our rental communities were in the process of being built, we wanted a comfortable family environment,” stated Brian Schottenstein, Vice President of The Schottenstein Real Estate Group. “Seeing photos posted on our Facebook page of residents with holiday decorations in their home, smiling with loved ones is a very rewarding aspect of this job.”
The sight of a fireplace burning, the smell of a well-cooked meal and the sound of conversations at the dining room table is what can make the coldest months of the year so warm. “Even though Chicago is freezing during the winter, December is by far my favorite month,” said Chicago resident Alex Caras. “The traditions that take place in my childhood home are priceless and I love going back.”
Often times it can be overlooked, but the home where you celebrate the holiday time can be one of the most special places on earth.
